I was commissioned by Azure Hair & Beauty to develop a comprehensive branding identity for their inaugural salon launch in Hixon, Staffordshire. The objective was to establish a strong visual presence that effectively communicated the company's ethos and fostered immediate brand recognition. Azure Hair & Beauty is a salon offering a diverse range of premium hair, eyebrow, nail, and other beauty treatments. Their core values emphasize a 'friendly, professional approach in a peaceful, relaxing village environment,' a sentiment that directly informed the design brief for the logo. The primary design directive was to cultivate a tranquil aesthetic, mirroring the desired in-store atmosphere and service delivery.

My design process prioritized the creation of a relaxed and graceful visual identity. To ensure a cohesive and impactful logo, I established specific design parameters. A monochromatic color scheme was implemented, with a signature light blue selected as the primary brand color due to its inherently tranquil qualities – a common association in environments designed for stress reduction, such as healthcare and wellness studios – and its connection to the Latin origin of the company name, evoking 'blue skies.' The typeface 'Skema Pro,' a smooth and bold serif, was adopted to ensure design consistency across future applications while lending an air of sophistication through its formal and classic appearance. The illustrative element of the logo features elegant, interconnected linework, symbolizing the synergy of the various beauty treatments offered. This circular linework serves both to unify the different design components and to provide a defined space for informational elements.

The resulting logo is a well-integrated design that conveys elegance and calmness, effectively establishing a tranquil aesthetic while clearly presenting essential information. This successful brand identity has been consistently applied across various touchpoints, including location branding, social media platforms, staff uniforms, and other marketing materials, providing a cohesive and professional visual language for the business. The strength of this initial branding has contributed to the company's growth, evidenced by the subsequent opening of a second location, also utilizing the original logo design (as illustrated in slides 3/4/5).
